Organized Activities

• Via Natura (Γεφύρι Πλάκας, Τ/26850-31.200, 6972-223.574, www.vianatura.gr). Via natura plans, organizes and conducts various sport activities in the nature, in carefully selected sites in the area of Tzoumerka. Tzoumerka is located in the north-western Greece and is part of the mountain range of Pindos. There are sites of wild natural beauty and of great environmental importance worthy of visiting in the villages of Sirako, Kalarites, Matsuki, Kataraktis, in the villages of Athamanon and in the waterfalls. There are also plenty buildings which date back to Byzantine and post-Byzantine eras, monasteries located in magnificent areas, as well as stone made bridges, of wonderful architecture. The existence of archeological findings such as ancient tombs and buildings lead to the conclusion that the area has been inhabited since ancient times. Age, physical condition and the client’s special preferences do not consist an obstacle to any of our activities since the degree of difficulty is selected based on the group and their previous experience.

• Ippostrouth Farm (Lazena, Aetorachi, Τ/26590-22.078, 6974-798.908). Horse riding in a thick pine forest overlooking Arachthus and Kalarrytikos Rivers. Enjoy your coffee, gaze at ostriches and ride your horse in staggering horse-paths, all provided by this family-run farm.

• Trekking Hellas (Τ/26510-71.703, 6977-010.060, 6972-031.553, www.trekking.gr). Follow the astonishing path from Politsa to Plaka Bridge, led by the most experienced guides of Trekking Hellas. Stop for a swim under the Clifke waterfalls and cross Arachthus Gorge with its staggering rocks rising on both sides. Equipment is provided by the company and the cost for rafting is 40 euros per person.

Tzoumerka mountains offer a unique variety of Mountain trekking itineraries, together with a multitude of other activities.

• Mountain trekking itinerary Matsouki – Strogoula peak (2429 m.) – Mountain Shelter at Isioma (4 hours, high difficulty)
• Mountain climbing to Kakarditsa peak.
• Mountain Path Τ2: Markopoulo fir forest – Raftanaioi – Monastery of Panagia Mouhousiotissa.

• Trekking path to Arachthus Gorge Chrousa (old mills).
• Trekking path: Pramanta – Stroggoula – Aghia Paraskevi Monastery – Pramanta Cave (2 hours)

Congressional Tourism

There are two venues in the wider vicinity of Katsanohoria with the capacity to host scientific congresses. The first is Hotel Lanassa, which accommodates a congress center and the second is old school of Plesia-Kalentzi villages, which has been transformed into a fully equipped congress center, with EU funding.
